Oh my GOODNESS, this is the most awesome news ever ... does one realize that without everyone voicing their opinion, signing the petitions and definitely calling, face booking and emailing their Representatives, we would have had no chance to change this outcome... Miracles happen everyday and we must always do our do diligence for all animals.. from our horses, to our dogs, cats, wildlife and all of our Endangered Species. If we do not make our voices heard, who then? We must take action over all costs do what is right... "NO LIFE IS BETTER THAN ANOTHER AND ALL LIFE WAS CREATED WITH PURPOSE.. Please share this awesome news and please follow the link and SAY A BIG MAHALO TO OUR REPRESENTATIVES IN SAVING AND PROTECTING OUR HORSES!!!!!!

Good Afternoon Tia,

We have very exciting news! As you know, we had a disappointing vote in the House just last week, but the Senate Appropriations Committee adopted the Udall-Graham Amendment on Thursday morning to keep horse slaughter plants out of our country. The Amendment passed by voice vote with very little vocal opposition.
The actions you took for horses made a real difference, and now is the time to thank the senators who cosponsored this crucial amendment.
Although this is encouraging news, horses aren’t out of the woods yet. The House and Senate must now reconcile these disparate decisions. We will keep you updated at each step of this process and let you know when it’s time for you to weigh in with your legislators again. Please hang in there with us as we face the next few months of working to keep this protection in the final bill.

Until then, if you are a constituent of one of the senators listed below, please call him or her at the phone number provided to express your gratitude. You can simply say “Thank you for your leadership on the Udall-Graham Amendment, and for working to keep our American horses safe from slaughter.”  After you place your call, visit www.senate.gov, find your senator’s contact form and send a follow-up email with the same message of thanks.

Lindsey Graham (SC) - (202) 224-5972
Tom Udall (NM) - (202) 224-6621
Dianne Feinstein (CA) - (202) 224-3841
Susan Collins (ME) - (202) 224-2523
Jeanne Shaheen (NH) - (202) 224-2841
Chris Coons (DE) - (202) 224-5042
If your senators are not a cosponsor, please still reach out and ask them to help ensure no tax dollars are used for horse slaughter. Legislators often influence each other’s choices and your Senator could be just one conversation away from swaying a key member’s decision!
Your efforts are truly invaluable. Thanks so much for your continuing outreach to your members of Congress to ensure this grisly industry is kept out of the U.S.
Please let us know if you have any questions. We’re always here to help.

Talk to you soon,
Audrey Tamez
