But as a valued donor I wanted you to be the first to meet one particular pig--Penny. Millions of animals suffer in factory farms every day, and sometimes it can be hard to truly understand the pain an individual animal goes through in the mass of chaos, cruelty and neglect. Penny is just one of over four million pigs bred and handled by The Maschhoffs each year--but her story is extremely important, because it helps us remember that each of the four million pigs is intelligent, has their own unique personality and deserves a voice.
