This lone stallion somehow escaped captureon Sunday in the Bureau of Land Management's massive Beatys Butte roundup underway now in Oregon. He now roams alone on a landscape where wild horses are being wiped out so that ranchers who sell beef to Whole Foods Market can graze more cattle there. Please take action today to ask Whole Foods Market to adopt mustang and burro safe policies by not providing a market for beef and lamb from animals grazed in federally designated wild horse and burro habitat. Let's use our consumer muscle to change this system that is rigged against our mustangs and burros!

AWHPC is urgently looking for permanent placement for several groups of wild horses rescued after they were rounded up and removed from the Virginia Range. If placement of these horses is not secured by the end of the month, most will be sold at a slaughter auction. Can you help these horses? If so, please email louise3270@sbcglobal.net. For more information on the horses who are desperate for new homes, please click below.

Last month, the BLM offered a rare public tour of its Indian Lakes short-term holding facility in Fallon Nevada, where 2,500 wild horses and burros are warehoused in feedlot conditions after being removed from their homes on the range throughout the West. Nevada resident Mary Cioffi attended the tour for AWHPC and filed an eyewitness report, which you can read by clicking below.
