This is an historic moment, and many hundreds of thousands of concerned citizens have been fighting against this particular pipeline for a long time.. We've signed letters to our representatives, joined protests, petitions, and had the occasion to be arrested..
Victory doesn't happen every time, but we can make extremely loud noise and are voices will be heard. When the Keystone pipeline was introduced seven years ago, it was revealed by experts that it would be and environmental disaster. Still many thought it was inevitable that the pipeline would be approved..
Never stay quiet, voice your opinion, be tenacious in all you do. Work together as a team, fill the streets with petitions, and documentation of a disaster just waiting to happen. Care 2 received 606,000 signatures on their petitions against the pipeline. The Tar Sands Action sit-in at the White House was the largest civil disobedience action in the United States since 1977.
There is much work still to be done. Care 2 is now working on stopping the expansion of offshore drilling, to take bold action at the Paris climate talks next month, and above all, we all need accountability from all those who make these decisions.
OUR VOICES WERE HEARD!!!!!!!!!!
President Obama just confirmed it. Let's celebrate it.
Sign the petitions especially if one cares about our environment and the whole ecosystem..
