Breaking News from the Sierra Club... Grizzlies are to be delisted by the current administration. This will definitely be a very detrimental act by the Department of Interior and in the recovery of our Grizzly Bears. This will allow an open range for all trophy hunters and killing machines in all the states surrounding Yellowstone Park. They will slaughter not only adult bears but also slaughter all of their young cubs. Please take the time to SIGN THIS PETITION AND SHARE IT... WE ARE THEIR VOICE THEIR ONLY VOICE WE CAN STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING... Mahalo

Greater Yellowstone Grizzlies Delisted -- Tell Zinke to stop the attacks on wildlife.

Today, the U.S. Department of the Interior announced that they are delisting the Greater Yellowstone grizzly bear.
This decision will set grizzly recovery in the region back by decades.  Greater Yellowstone grizzlies are already facing an uphill battle -- isolation from other bears, diminished sources of food, and record-high mortalities.
The surrounding states of Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho have already made it clear that without endangered species protections, they will immediately reduce the number of bears in the area and allow people to trophy hunt grizzly bears.
For years, activists like you have called on U.S. Department of Interior to continue to protect these grizzlies, honoring the Tribal Nations who hold these bears sacred. Now, Interior Secretary Zinke must know that we will not stand by and allow Greater Yellowstone grizzly bears to go the way of the dinosaurs.
Tell Secretary Zinke that the Greater Yellowstone grizzlies must continue to be protected and to stop these attacks on wildlife!

I am shocked and saddened that you have delisted the Greater Yellowstone grizzly bear. Grizzly bears are an essential piece of the American West, a wildlife icon that has been integral to the Yellowstone region for centuries. Thanks to protections under the Endangered Species Act, grizzly bears were making a remarkable recovery, but that recovery was far from over. By delisting these bears, you are setting grizzly bear recovery in the Yellowstone region back by decades. Now states like Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana have the green light to implement their appalling version of wildlife management -- allowing trophy hunters to come in and decimate the populations of these endangered bears. Shame on you. You have ignored the rightful calls for government-to-government consultation of Tribal Nations who hold grizzly bears sacred and the hundreds of thousands of people like me who believe Greater Yellowstone grizzlies must remain protected. There is no more beautiful or powerful symbol of our wild heritage than the grizzly bear. It’s sad to even imagine places like Yellowstone National Park or the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area without the spine-tingling presence of the Great Bear. The grizzly bear embodies true wilderness, with all its risks and rewards. We owe it to our children and grandchildren to protect this amazing animal and the place it calls home.
