Endangered Earth... I have attached for you the Newsletter from the Center of Biological Diversity. The Center for Biological Diversity was founded in the New Mexico’s Gila wilderness, by Kierán Suckling, Peter Galvin, and Todd Schulke. All three met while surveying owls for the U.S. Forest Service. The Center’s innovation was to systematically use biological data, legal expertise, and the citizen petition provision of the powerful Endangered Species Act to obtain sweeping, legally binding new protections for animals, plants, and their habitat. They first started in New Mexico, then throughout the Southwest, and through all 11 western states. They then crossed to other key areas across the country. Every year thereafter the Center has expanded its territories, which now extends to the protection of all species throughout the Pacific and Atlantic oceans and international regions as remote as the North and South poles. Hundreds of species gained protection as a result of their groundbreaking petitions, lawsuits, policy advocacy, and outreach to the media. They went from living and working on pennies, to having offices around the country. They relied on donated time from pro bono attorneys at large firms, to building a full staff of dozens of prominent environmental lawyers and scientists who work exclusively on their campaigns to save all species and their habitats for survival. They are now fighting a growing number of national and worldwide threats to biodiversity, from the overarching global problems of unsustainable human population and climate changes. Their unparalleled record of legal successes — 93 percent of their lawsuits result in favorable outcomes. They have developed a unique negotiating position with both government agencies and private corporations. The Center is now in their twenty-sixth year, we look forward to a future of continued expansion, creativity, and no-holds-barred action on behalf of the world’s most critically endangered animals and plants. They especially work with the most endangered of species of both wolves, bears, birds, bees, all marine life, and all habitats of these species. Nothing was created without purpose and keeping our most endangered species alive and well will keep our ecosystems of all EARTH, healthy and balanced.

Suit Launched to Speed Protection for 417 Species
At least 42 species have gone extinct waiting for Endangered Species Act protection -- and we don't want that to happen to even one more animal or plant. So on Monday the Center for Biological Diversity took action for 417 species, from cranes to crayfish, notifying the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that we'll sue the agency for failing to act on petitions to save imperiled wildlife.

Since 2011 the Service has been implementing our landmark agreement to speed protection decisions for 757 species -- but that agreement did not include "12-month findings" for the 417 species included in this week's notice. The 757 settlement winds up in September.

"Delayed protection can be deadly for species already on the brink of extinction," said Noah Greenwald, our endangered species director. "These 417 species are being dangerously neglected."

The Staggering Cost of Burning Unleased Fossil Fuels in the Gulf
Louisiana is the latest flashpoint in the fight to keep fossil fuels in the ground. This week the Center joined locals in New Orleans to resist an oil and gas auction covering nearly 37,500 square miles of federal waters in the Gulf of Mexico. Four people were arrested, including a Center campaigner.

The auction follows a new analysis by the Center and allies finding that burning the unleased fossil fuels under federal waters in the Gulf would release the equivalent of up to 32.8 billion tons of carbon dioxide.

Arizona Cacti Win 36,000 Protected Acres
Acuña cactus
You might guess that if any species could survive global warming, it'd be a cactus -- but climate change is actually a major factor driving two Arizona cacti toward extinction: the spherical acuña cactus, with its beautiful pink or lavender flowers, and the small, globular Fickeisen plains cactus, which can actually pull itself into the ground with "retractile" roots during extreme temperatures.

Center petitions and a landmark settlement helped win protections for these cacti in 2013. Now they're finally receiving "critical habitat" protection as well: nearly 36,000 acres.

Ban Sought on Commercial Trapping of Wild Turtles in Missouri
Thousands of Missouri's wild turtles have been caught and sold over the past decade, part of a troubling national trend that has exported millions of turtles, mostly to Asia. This week the Center and partners petitioned Missouri wildlife officials to end commercial trapping of the state's wild freshwater turtles.

Since 2008 the Center has been successfully petitioning other states that allow unrestricted commercial turtle collection. So far we've seen important new limits on turtle collecting in Florida, Georgia and Alabama, plus proposed changes in Iowa.

California Supreme Court Says No to Suction Dredge Gold Mining
Suction dredge
The California Supreme Court on Mondayupheld a statewide halt on "suction dredge" gold mining. Hobbyist miners had tried to prevent the state from enforcing its moratorium, which the Center and allies have been supporting for years.

Suction dredge mining vacuums up gravel and sand from river bottoms, poisoning the water with mercury. It hurts wildlife like salmon, red-legged frogs and songbirds, as well as priceless tribal resources.

"In this time of drought and climate change," said the Center's Jonathan Evans, "we can't afford to have our waterways trashed."

Choose Wild: Enter Our Veggie Recipe Contest
Eating less meat is one of the most powerful ways we can reduce our personal environmental footprints. Every time you choose a plant-based instead of meat-based meal, you're taking a stand against the havoc the meat industry wreaks on wildlife through climate change, habitat loss, pollution and targeted slaughter. But changing what we eat means new recipes, and a lot of people don't know where to start.

That's why the Center's Take Extinction Off Your Plate campaign is launching its first-ever "Choose Wild" Recipe Contest. Whether it's a dessert or a hearty pasta, we're looking for easy and creative veggie dishes anyone can make at home. The best recipes will be featured on our website. Center members and supporters are especially encouraged to share original recipes and photos. Submit your entry by Sept. 16.

Grazing Restricted in National Forest to Save California Frog, Toad
Mountain yellow-legged frog
In response to our notice of intent to sue, the U.S. Forest Service has restricted livestock grazing on the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest to prevent harm to California's Sierra Nevada yellow-legged frog and Yosemite toad, both of which the Center works to protect under the Endangered Species Act.

Yellow-legged frogs and Yosemite toads are already in serious trouble, so it's crucial to ensure that grazing isn't allowed to foul some of the last habitat they have left.

Wild & Weird: T. Rex Lightning Bolt Roars Over Arizona National Park
America's national parks celebrate their 100th birthday this week. And right on cue, a buildup of positive and negative charges in a cloud over Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona delivered a priceless gift: a massive lightning bolt shaped like T. rex.

A photo posted on the U.S. Department of the Interior's Instagram account shows the king-of-dinosaurs-shaped lightning bolt seemingly poised to chomp a spectacular Blue Mesa rock formation dating from the Late Triassic, around 225 million years ago (long before T. rex).

Mahalo, to everyone who signs the petitions, as many of us know petitions work. These organizations work tirelessly everyday to continue to save our Earth and the most critically endangered species throughout the world.  Our future generations, will be needing to keep up the pace, where we have left off!!!!.

Humane Society International.. needs our signatures.. I have attached their petition sent to me, and I would like to share... Although dog fighting is a felony offense in all 50 states, organized dog fighting still takes place in many parts of the country. Historical accounts date as far back as the 1750s, with professional fighting pits in the 1860s. As with any other illegal underground activity, it is impossible to determine how many people may be involved in dog fighting. Estimates based on fight reports in underground dog fighting publications, and on animals entering shelters bearing evidence of fighting, suggest that the number of people involved in dog fighting in the U.S. is in the tens of thousands. While organized dog fighting activity seemed to decline in the 1990s, many law enforcement and animal control officials feel that it has rebounded in recent years, with the Internet making it easier than ever for dog fighters to exchange information about animals and fights. There are many reasons why dog fighting is such an attraction for many.. The most basic is greed. Major dog fight raids have resulted in seizures of more than $500,000, and it is not unusual for $20,000 - $30,000 to change hands in a single fight. Stud fees and the sale of pups from promising bloodlines can also bring in thousands of dollars. The appeal for other seems to come from the sadistic enjoyment of a brutal spectacle. the pleasure of seeing another animal tear apart another. What happens to those dogs that may lose during a fight? Well most of the time if the animal did not die during the fight, the owner will brutally beat and with malice in their heart kill the dog, why.. they lost alot of money.. Dog fighting is a very violent and highly secretive enterprise that is extremely difficult for law enforcement and investigative professionals to infiltrate. A dog fight investigation requires many of the same skills and resources as a major undercover narcotics investigation, and challenges the resources of any agency that seeks to respond to it. Humane Society International is asking everyone to please sign this petition, so Dog Fighting legislation can be passed ... we are here to save and protect and petitions, as well as many of you know do work, they work tirelessly to save all animals throughout the world. Humans are a dangerous species. we are Angels of Kindness working very hard to save our animals from such brutal and barbaric actions.. Mahalo

Fight dog fighting in Mexico

Dogfighting is a gruesome spectacle that pits one dog against another—forcing them to fight until they are seriously injured or worse. This is a highly unpopular event in Mexico entangled with dangerous people and organized crime.

In dog fighting there is no winner. The losing dog is often killed—by his opponent or by his owner— and the “victorious” animal often dies from wounds sustained during the fight.

While dogfighting is banned in several Mexican states, there is no federal law that explicitly prohibits it and it is not typified in the federal criminal code. Not only is this tragic for Mexico, but even in areas where dogfighting is outlawed like the U.S., American-based dogfighters will come to Mexico to participate and avoid law enforcement. It’s time to stop the relocation of dogfighting and instead put an end to this cruelty.
With your help, we hope to pass legislation that criminalizes dogfighting at the federal level while encouraging people to use our tip line to report suspicious activity. We also plan to train local law enforcement to respond effectively to these reports.

Together, let's work to ensure that this terrible competition is banned and that strict penalties are enforced.

Mahalo for signing...

Breaking News!!! Center of Biological Diversity has just released the latest news that the State of Washington, as paid a helicopter gunman to start killing wolves at random. They are killing the Profanity Peak Pack including the matriarch of the pack. These wolves have long been under study by 2 of the wildlife organizations. It has been known that once the matriarch is killed the pack can split and all the work that has been done to restore the wolf packs in this area and bring them back from endangerment will be lost. It seems that the State of Washington as, well as many of the states including Idaho, Wyoming, and Alaska, are deciding for themselves what packs are to be targeted. The State Washington has started their own cull on who lives and who dies, all because of the cattle barons of the state. I believe the cattle barons should be hit hard and the Federal Government needs to step in and stop these indiscriminate slaughter. Wolves are the most important part of our earth's ecosystems. They bring a true balance to our forests and to all of our wildlife. I truly believe all predator animals in our wilderness control earth's ecosystems. Alaska has started their own cull and it has been noted as the worst killing wildlife ever seen. One whole entire wolf pack killed and years of research cut short. Alaska’s campaign or should I say cull of brutal killing of wolves, bears and other predators is so intense that National Park Service scientists are abandoning a 23-year old study of wolf behavior because so many of their study animals have been killed. I did not see any petitions drawn, to enable the people living in these states and nationwide, would have a voice regarding these indiscriminate killings in these particular states. Our voices are very loud and very clear, to State Representatives and US Fish and Wildlife Service would look into other ways of preserving these lives. "No living creature was created without a purpose"... and Humans are the must dangerous species.

The news out of Washington state:  helicopter gunman paid by the state has killed at least two wolves of the Profanity Peak pack, including the family's matriarch. This is the third time in two years that the breeding female of a pack has been killed due to state action, even though this is known to destroy wolf families and leave pups to die abandoned in their dens.

The Center for Biological Diversity is leading the fight to stop these kinds of wolf killings. Support with a contribution today to theWolf Defense Fund.

The decision to gun down these two pack members is part of a long-running war on wolves in which the profits of the cattle industry are placed above the well-being of wildlife. It's the third time a wolf family has been shattered in this corner of Washington state in the past four years -- the Wedge pack was wiped out in 2012, in 2014 the killing of the Huckleberry pack breeding female resulted in the pack splitting in two, and now the matriarch of the
Profanity Peak pack has been gunned down.

This stretch of public land is perfect habitat for wolves because it's rough, wooded and remote. But the cattle industry wants to operate it like a publicly subsidized feedlot, setting up conflicts that lead to needless deaths. Whether they're up against ranchers, hunters, or timber and mining companies, the needs of wolves always seem to come last.

And it's not just in Washington state. The war on wolves across America has never really stopped since the 19th century. In Alaska's Denali National Park, the legendary East Fork pack, which biologists have continuously monitored since 1939, was just declared extinct. Because Alaska allows wolves to be shot or trapped as soon as they step outside the park, this pack was whittled down one by one until the last pups disappeared this spring. In a particularly infamous incident, a wolf hunter dumped a horse carcass at a site just outside the park and surrounded it with traps, capturing and killing the pack's breeding female, who was most likely pregnant at the time.

These vicious assaults on wolves must end. Center of Biological Diversity is asking everyone to cares about our wildlife to contribute to the Wolf Defense Fund, so their lawyers and activists can take on the powerful interests invested in the extermination of wolves at taxpayer expense.

The Center has have made wolves a focus for more than a quarter-century. From fighting to bring back the lobo to the Southwest to ending Wyoming's gruesome wolf hunt, they have won more battles for wolves than anyone. In Washington, they are combating anti-wolf forces and lobbying hard to change rules that have led to these recent, ruthless wolf killings. We need your help to keep up this fight and prevent what's happened on public lands in northeast Washington from happening to other wolf pa

Breaking News!!!! Sierra Club.. When it comes to the health of our marine life and our oceans, there is only one law..... Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act. This mandate was created and responsible for ensuring that our fish populations remain strong. This law has been credited with bringing back many of the fisheries from collapse. Millions of fish, as well as the fisheries owe their life and business to this law... It is now up to us to stand and make our voices heard to Big Business and to Congress who plan to disassemble this law, that the Conservation and Management Act.. must be reestablished and it must be maintained throughout our lifetimes to ensure protection for our marine life and our oceans.. Mahalo

The myths of Poseidon say he was the protector of all waters, also known as the God Of The Sea. He was the son of Cronus and Rhea. Greek mythology knows him as the second most powerful God on Olympus.

I think we need to call on him!!!!!!!!!

I have attached a petition from the Sierra Club, through AddUp.org. "Overfishing is killing our oceans".. Link at bottom of page... Mahalo

The impact of overfishing is very easy to predict the most obvious impact of overfishing — no more fish for humans and as well for other fish to sustain their life. This is only a few decades from now, if we do not act quickly and decisively. There is far more to this than lack of fish at stake here, our Ecosystems complete destruction according to marine ecologists, unsustainable fishing is the greatest threat to ocean ecosystems.

This practice of overfishing, through nets, destroys the physical environments of marine life, and distorts the entire food chain in the oceans. The Biodiversity of Marine Life is amazing and balanced with millions of fish species and other marine animals. Today fish are siezed and saught after and fisheries are fishing for particular species like the Blue-Fin tuna (which is very good tasting meat), soon that fish will be extinct. This is why laws must be put in place to allow fishes to re-populate their species.

" A new study conducted by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) found that 5 out of the 8 tuna species are at risk of extinction. All three species of bluefin tuna, for example, are threatened with extinction and are at a population that makes their recovery practically irreversible."
 : Blue Fin
Blue Fin

Hawaii has been over-fishing for years, and many of our Atlantic seaboard states through to the Northwest, Canada, Asia and Australia. Many large fisheries stay for weeks and months in deep seas and sometime loose their nets. This is called Ghost Fishing and these nets continue to trap and catch fish under the water and end up killing them. These discarded nets stay there for many decades and the destruction they cause is fairly significant, including the killing of our whales, dolphins and seals. We are losing our precious ecosystems both on land and in our seas.

These laws must not be revoked.  We are the VOICE for the VOICELESS.  BOTH ANIMALS AND MARINE,.. WE NEED TO BE HEARD!!!!! IF WE DO NOT SHARE AND SIGN THESE PETITIONS, SO MUCH MORE WILL BE LOST FOR OUR FUTURE GENERATIONS.  I guess it is a sure bet... Humans are the most dangerous species..  we need to look into our hearts and souls to see what we are doing to our EARTH, to our complete ECOSYSTEMS, both in our fisheries, land management for our horses, and especially for our wolves, bears, bees and all animals big and small...many of our species are near extinction, I guess a cull has started on who lives, who dies......... We can stop it,

Be the Angel of Kindness we all were meant to be!!!!!!!

Many people have no idea of overfishing. This means we all have a responsibility to educate others of this issue. Learning about it (like what you are doing now) is the greatest start to solving the problem. Make sure you share and tell others about it.
Join the organizations, to help solve he problems, Sierra Club, The Center for Biological Diversity, GreenPeace and many more...

Please sign the petition listed here take action, and have your voice heard!!

Remember, no life is greater than another... and no life was created without purpose.
TAKE ACTION.. DO NOT SIT THERE WITH BLINDERS ON TO THE FACTS THAT WE ARE DESTROYING OUR ECOSYSTEMS, .

We are all Angels of Kindness, so lets rock the BOAT..
